How to Register Your Boat in Oklahoma
To register a boat in Oklahoma, you must apply within 30 days from ownership of purchase through the Oklahoma Tax Commission / Service Oklahoma. Online registration is available. Registration is valid for 1 year or 3 years (July 1 – June 30).
Registration can be completed:
- Online: Through the Oklahoma Tax Commission / Service Oklahoma portal
- In Person: At your local Oklahoma Tax Commission / Service Oklahoma office
- By Mail: Download forms from the official website

Title & Title Transfer
Oklahoma requires a boat title for all boats and outboard motors over 10 hp used or capable of being used on oklahoma waters. The title application fee is $2.25, and transfers cost $2.25.

Boater Safety Education Requirements
Oklahoma requires a boater safety course. Operators aged 12-15 must complete a NASBLA-approved course to operate motorboats over 10 HP, sailboats 16+ ft, or PWC; adult supervision also required. The minimum age to operate a vessel is 12.
